New product-line extension

ELSOLD presents new SynTECH-LF Amtech Solder Paste: the first lead-free no-clean solder paste based on a synthetic flux.

The new product has been developed in particular for SMT assemblies and is ideally suited fort in-silver and tin-silver-copper alloys. It offers the following advantages to its users:

• reliable print and reflow results
• synthetic formulation completely free of rosin for so far unachieved consistency in printing behaviour and lot-to-lot properties
• increased stability even under sub-optimum environmental conditions
• classified as REL0 per DIN 61190-1-2
• suitable for all common surfaces including OSP
• suitable for in-circuit testing

Due to the negative environmental impact of lead the European Union has passed the RoHS legislation being transferred now to national law in the EU member countries. This law will effectively ban lead from electronic soldering with effect of 1.7.2006 with only a handful of exceptions. With its unsurpassed printing properties allowing increased printing speeds SynTECH-LF is ideally suited fort hese requirements. Customers can substantially increase their hourly throughput by using this product.

By virtue of its ideal viscosity, grain size, and optimum spherical shape SynTECH-LF guarantees high-quality solder joints without solder balling even at the required elevated processing temperatures. The paste leaves non-corrosive, non-conductive residues acting as a protective layer fort he printed circuit board. If cleaning is required customers may use Zestron/Dr.Wack Chemie cleaning agents as well as Kyzen or Petroferm solvents.

ELSOLD, business unit of JL Goslar GmbH, manufactures and sells SynTECH-LF Solder Paste in Europ under Licence from Amtech. The product is available in jars, cartridges, syringes and Pro-Flow cassettes. Besides solder paste. ELSOLD manufactures and sells soft solders in the shape of bars and ingots, solid and flux-cored wires and other shapes, as well as fluxes and other soldering materials.
